FAQ - Daisy Kings Tallow

Hi & thank you for being here!

What is tallow?

It’s beef fat — but make it skincare. Rich in fatty acids, crazy moisturizing, and nearly identical to your skin’s natural oils. Your face will love it (even if your brain’s still catching up).

What is the shelf-life for Daisy Kings tallow products?

Daisy Kings products are best when used within 6 MONTHS of purchase date. If you are questioning the integrity and quality of the product between the 3-6 month range, feel free to dispose.

Do your tallow products have a BEEFY smell?

The answer is no! We use a dry and slow rendering process for all of our tallow products. This helps to purifies the tallow, while maintaining the key nutrients and benefits for your skin!

How should I store my products?

Store your Daisy Kings products away from light and extreme temperature changes.

To maintain its original texture, store your tallow products in a typical temperature-controlled environment (68-74 degrees). Temperature fluctuations can cause the tallow to harden in cold conditions or melt in warm conditions. If this occurs, there's no need to worry; the moisturizer is still usable, but know the texture may change.

Can I use tallow if I have acne-prone skin?

Great question! Everyone’s skin is different, but tallow has a fatty acid profile that’s actually very similar to our skin’s natural oils — which can help balance oil production and support the skin barrier (both important for acne-prone skin). Some people see big improvements, especially when switching from products that strip or clog the skin. That said, it’s always a good idea to patch test first and give it a couple weeks to adjust. If it doesn’t vibe with your skin, no hard feelings — but many folks with breakouts end up loving it.

Is this product organic?

While I strive to use clean and quality sourced ingredients, our tallow based products are not certified organic.

Should I refrigerate my products?

Nope, these products are shelf-stable at room temperature.
